7th Person Accused Of Posing As San Bruno Blast Victim
SAN BRUNO (AP) -- A seventh person has been charged with posing as a victim of the San Bruno pipeline explosion to claim disaster aid.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports Thursday that 23-year-old Jacqueline Turner has been charged with burglary.
San Mateo County prosecutors alleged that Turner pretended she was a victim of the Sept. 9 blast that killed eight people and destroyed dozens of homes. They alleged Wise filled out a form with an address purportedly in the disaster zone even though she is a resident of San Francisco.
When relief workers asked her what she needed, prosecutors said Turner stated that she wanted everything they were offering.
Turner is free on $50,000 bail.
