6th Anniversary Of Barry Bonds Becoming Baseball's All-Time HR King
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS Sports) -- On this date six years ago, Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants hit his 756th career home run to move passed Hank Aaron and into sole possession of first place on baseball's all-time home run list. Washington Nationals left-hander Mike Bacsik served up the historic dinger.
Bonds went on to finish his career with 762 career home runs. As you surely know, he holds both the career and single-season (73) homer records.
Obviously both records are under suspicion due to Bonds' connection to performance-enhancing drugs, but records are not open to interpretation. They're factual accounts of what happened on the field, and Bonds indeed went deep more times than anyone in history.
