Good Question: How Are Lines Painted At The Shark Tank?
SAN JOSE (CBS 5) – You've seen the men in teal play on this surface, but it doesn't get rubbed off or fade away. In this Good Question: How are lines and logos painted on the ice at the Shark Tank?
According to Bruce Tharaldson of the San Jose Sharks, all the lines on the ice including the goalie's crease are painted by hand on ice 1/16th of an inch thick. The logo at center ice is actually a cloth template laid over the ice during painting. The paint and logo are then sprayed with layers of water until the ice is about one inch thick.
