6 Injured In Pair Of Weekend Berkeley Shootings
BERKELEY (CBS SF) - Three people were wounded in a shooting in Berkeley on Sunday, the second shooting to occur in the city in three days, police said.
Officers responded to several reports of gunshots heard in the area of Seventh and Addison streets at about 12:50 a.m.
Arriving units found a group of about five people near Sixth Street. Three males in the group had been wounded. All three victims were taken to a hospital, treated and released.
A subsequent investigation revealed that the group had been hanging out in front of a house in the 2100 block of Seventh Street when two suspects walked up, police said.
The suspects opened fire at the group and ran away, possibly to a waiting vehicle.
No one was arrested and police have not identified any suspects.
On Friday, police responded to several calls reporting shots fired in the 2200 block of Bonar Street at about 6:20 p.m.
Five people had been standing in front of an apartment building when a car drove up and stopped in the roadway, police said.
Occupants in the vehicle opened fire, striking three males in the group.
The three victims were taken to Highland Hospital, treated and released.
No arrests were made.
Police have not said if the two shootings could be related.
