6.4 Magnitude Quake Strikes Indonesia
JAKARTA, Indonesia (CBS SF) -- A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Northern Sumatra, Indonesia on Tuesday.
The quake struck at about 2:03 pm PST, and was 6 miles north of the city of Reuleuet , just off Aceh province, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The USGS said casualties and damages were not likely and no tsunami alert was issued.
Indonesia is on the so-called Pacific 'Ring of Fire' and Sumatra is prone to quakes.
