Coroner IDs San Francisco Murder Victim

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/BCN) -- A 21-year-old man fatally shot in San Francisco's Western Addition neighborhood on Friday evening has been identified by the medical examiner's office as Antoine Galloway.

The city's ShotSpotter system was activated by gunfire at around 7:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Ellis and Steiner streets, San Francisco police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.

Officers went to the scene and did not find anyone there, but shortly afterward a victim showed up with multiple gunshot wounds at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center on Geary Boulevard, Dangerfield said.

The victim, Galloway, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:20 p.m., Dangerfield said.

Investigators found shell casings at the scene of the shooting, but no arrests have been made and no suspect information was immediately available, he said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Department's homicide unit at (415) 553-1145 or the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
