49ers Take On The Giants On The Pebble Beach Green

PEBBLE BEACH (CBS SF) – It's not over yet for the San Francisco 49ers. They took-on the San Francisco Giants in a friendly & charitable round of golf at the annual Chevron Charity Shoot-Out in Pebble Beach.

On Tuesday, February 5, both teams converged on the famous and picturesque golf green in Monterey County and vied for a purse of $100,000 benefiting the Giants Community Fund, the 49ers Foundation and other charitable organizations. In front a crowd of baseball & football fans, the group teed-off at 1:30pm and ran through holes 1, 2, 3, 17 and 18.

This year's Giant's line-up include Giants' Manager, Bruce Bochey, current Giants Matt Cain and Ryan Vogelsong, plus former players Will Clark and J.T. Snow.

On the Niners end, Harris Barton, Dwight Clark, Brent Jones, Bill Romanowski and Steve Bono also joined in on the competition.

On Monday, Steve John, CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation announced 49er Head Coach Jim Harbaugh will return to play the AT&T Pro-Am this week. Last year, QB Alex Smith was his caddie. No word yet if Harbaugh will also participate in the Charity Shoot-out.

The shoot-out kicks off a week of events & tournaments leading up to the AT&T Pro-Am Pebble Beach, hosting golf pros Dustin Johnson, Brandt Snedeker, Lee Westwood, Jim Furyk and returning Pro-Am champion, Phil Mickelson. The AT&T Pro-Am celebrity amateurs include the venerable Bill Murray, Carson Daly, Andy Garcia, Huey Lewis, Giants' Matt Cain, Chris O'Donnell, Ray Romano and more. Tournament Director, John also made an announcement that Tiger Woods will not be participating in the event this year. Woods returned to Pebble Beach in 2012 after a 10-year hiatus.

The AT&T Pro-Am airs this Saturday, February 9 & Sunday, February 10 starting 12Noon KPIX 5.
