49ers Linebacker Chris Borland Retiring Over Concussion Concerns
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- 49ers linebacker Chris Borland has decided to call it quits after just one season in the league over health concerns, reports ESPN's Outside the Lines.
Borland said he notified the team Friday and came to the decision after discussing his decision with family members and concussion researchers.
"I just honestly want to do what's best for my health," Borland told "Outside the Lines." "From what I've researched and what I've experienced, I don't think it's worth the risk."
