49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh Announces No More Pleated Khakis
SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) – After Jim Harbaugh's wife publicly slammed his wardrobe, the San Francisco 49ers coach showed off a new pair of pants and said he is no longer wearing out-of-style pleated khakis.
Earlier this week, Sarah Harbaugh called the Fernando and Greg morning show at CBS San Francisco sister station 99.7 [NOW!] to complain about the coach's signature pants, which he found at Walmart for $8.
"I've thrown them away many of times. I've asked him 'Please, pleats are gone. Wear the flat front.'" she told Fernando and Greg, "He has a flattering body."
When asked about the interview, Jim Harbaugh said, "I heard they were making quite a bit of sport of me."
Wearing a pair of $23 Dickey's flat front khakis, the coach told reporters that the problem is solved. "So, happy wife, happy life," he said.
While he has sworn off pleated pants, Jim Harbaugh said he will continue to have his shirt tucked in on the sideline. "If I'm the last person who tucks in their shirt, that would feel great, I'll feel like an innovator," he said.
