480 Collisions Reported In 12-Hour Period Across Bay Area As Storm Passes Through
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The California Highway Patrol says there were nearly 500 car crashes in a 12-hour period as a powerful storm moved across the Bay Area Tuesday.
The CHP received reports of 480 collisions between midnight and noon Tuesday, most of them rain related.
The storm brought down trees across the Bay Area, including a large eucalyptus tree in Berkeley that cut power and access to hundreds of homes.
