Car Fire Blocks Westbound Lanes Of San Mateo Bridge
REDWOOD CITY (BCN) --The California Highway Patrol has reopened the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge after a vehicle fire near the toll plaza in Hayward blocked westbound lanes for nearly an hour, an officer said.
Officers responded to reports of a white vehicle and possibly its driver on fire just west of the bridge toll plaza in at 12:55 p.m., CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.
The CHP held westbound traffic at the toll plaza while a medical helicopter responded.
A Sig-alert was issued at 1:05 p.m. and cancelled at 1:55 p.m.
