4 Sought In Violent Fremont Home Invasion
FREMONT (CBS SF) - Fremont police are seeking four suspects connected with a home invasion robbery that left one woman injured Saturday morning.
The men broke into a house in the 48000 block of Purpleleaf Street in Fremont on Saturday morning and surrounded the bed where a 49-year-old female resident was napping. One of the suspects had a gun, according to police.
The victim woke up and reached for her landline phone, but one of the suspects grabbed it from her. She then reached for her cellphone, but the suspects took it, police said.
The men then began beating her and tried to restrain her with duct tape, but she fought them off and escaped to a neighbor's house. Police were called to the scene at 11:39 a.m.
The suspects took jewelry from the house and left via a back fence where police believe they had a car waiting. The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for facial injuries, police said.
The robbery appears to be a random act, according to police.
Police described all four suspects as Hispanic men. One is approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and was wearing a gray shirt and jeans and carrying a small handgun. The second suspect is in his early 20s, is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and was wearing a burgundy shirt and jeans. Police do not have specific descriptions of the other two men.
The suspects may have left the scene in a black older-model Acura with heavily worn paint.
