4 Hurt In 5 Separate Overnight Oakland Shootings
OAKLAND (KCBS) - A violent night and early morning have Oakland police investigating a string of shootings and a possible homicide at a home in the Oakland Hills.
The gunshots began in East Oakland, when a group standing near a taco truck shot at a car that drove by around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday. No one was injured in that shooting at 44th Avenue & International Boulevard.
About two hours later, a person standing on a sidewalk near the corner of Davis Street and 34th Avenue was shot. That victim remained hospitalized in critical condition Thursday.
Early Thursday morning, a man suffering from a gunshot wound was found on Adeline Street near 32nd Street in West Oakland around just after 4 a.m.
Around 8 a.m., police found a shooting victim in a car in the 3100 block of Adeline Street. That victim was also transported to a hospital.
At 8:18 a.m., police responded to reports that two males on bikes were shooting at each other in the 6300 block of Market Street.
One victim was located at the scene and transported to a hospital.
There was no initial word on any connection between the five shootings, which all occurred within a 12 hour span.
