Concord Gas Leak Repaired; 4-Block Evacuation Lifted
CONCORD (CBS SF) - A broken gas line that triggered evacuations in Concord Friday has been repaired, a PG&E spokeswoman said.
The 2-inch line at 1090 Concord Ave. between Burnett Avenue and Meridian Park Boulevard was struck at about 9:30 a.m. by a third-party contractor working in the area, PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said.
The break caused a four-block area to be evacuated and affected traffic, officials said.
PG&E was able to cut off gas flowing to the broken pipe at about 11:50 a.m. and completed repairs around 2:30 p.m., Sarkissian said.
