4 Arrested In String Of Burglaries At Danville Pharmacies
DANVILLE (CBS SF) - Officers have arrested four people in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in Danville, police said Monday.
An employee at a CVS Pharmacy at 650 San Ramon Valley Blvd. called police at about 11:45 a.m. Sunday to report that a woman who had previously stolen items was in the store.
Officers responded and waited for the woman outside the pharmacy.
When she came outside and attempted to drive away with three alleged accomplices, officers pulled them over.
Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found several hundred dollars of property that had been stolen from a Walgreens at 611 San Ramon Valley Boulevard and about $100 worth of items stolen from the CVS Pharmacy.
Investigators reviewed videotapes from the two pharmacies and took statements from the suspects before arresting them Sunday.
Two of the suspects had keys to a hotel room in Hayward. When officers searched the room, they allegedly found heroin, methamphetamine and other drugs as well as other property they suspect was stolen, police said.
The four suspects were identified as Natasha Barraza, 30, Anita Crabtree, 30, Javier Almaguer, 31, and Timothy Moore, 53, all Hayward residents.
Barraza was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, conspiracy, probation violation and providing false information. Crabtree was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and conspiracy.
Almaguer was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, conspiracy, being an accessory to a crime and committing a felony while out on bail. Moore was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, providing false information and impersonation of another person.
Danville police Chief Steve Simpkins said in a prepared statement that the four suspects were "obviously experienced in what they did.
"They worked together and knew exactly what they wanted," Simpkins said. "They just made the mistake of coming to Danville to conduct their business."
