3 Women Who Testified Against SF Mission District Rapist Honored
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — Three victims who took the stand against a man dubbed the "Mission Rapist" were among those honored with a Justice Award from the San Francisco District Attorney's office for their bravery.
During the two week trial last November, the three victims described their assaults in horrific detail. District Attorney George Gascon said it was their testimony that resulted in the conviction of 33-year-old Frederick Dozier Jr., who was sentenced to 370 years to life in prison.
"It is your bravery and your willingness to step up," Gascon said at the ceremony.

One victim, who chose to conceal her identify by using the name Miss S, said taking the stand required mental and physical strength and admitted it wasn't easy.
"I was the first victim, so I really lost hope throughout the way," she recalled. Miss S said the inspector working on the case always had hope every time she came in.
Assistant District Attorney Marshall Khine was the lead attorney for the prosecution and said in this case it was a privilege to be of service.
"The poise and the grace that I witnessed in the courtroom from them was truly inspiring," Khine said.
Nurses, victim advocates and those from the trauma recovery center were also honored as part of National Crime Victims' Rights week.
