3 Teens Arrested In Series Of San Mateo Break-Ins
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) - Police arrested two male juveniles and an adult male in connection with a string of burglaries following an in-progress residential burglary in San Mateo Sunday evening, according to police.
Police responded to a burglary at a residence in the 200 block of Woodbridge Circle at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, police said.
With assistance from neighboring public safety agencies and with air support provided by the California Highway Patrol, authorities were able to set up a perimeter and search for the suspects in the residential neighborhood bordering Laurie Meadows Park.
Two suspects were quickly detained and a third was detained a short while later, police said.
The suspects were identified and linked to the burglary by property found in their possession, police said.
Police arrested San Mateo resident Salvador Gonzalez, 18, for burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy, police said.
Gonzalez was booked into San Mateo County Jail, police said.
The 15-year-old and 13-year-old boys, both of San Mateo, were arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy, before being released to their parents, police said.
Detectives have linked the suspects to at least seven other burglaries in San Mateo and confirmed the suspects were casing houses by knocking on doors and searching the neighborhood for unoccupied homes.
