3 Suspected In Series Of Home Burglaries Arrested In Brentwood
BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- Three men were arrested in Brentwood Thursday for allegedly committing multiple residential burglaries in the area and leading officers on a car chase.
Around 10 a.m., police officers spotted a stolen vehicle linked to a recent home burglary and began to follow it, police said.
Police said the chase ended when the driver crashed into a light pole in the 400 block of American Avenue.
The driver, identified as 18-year-old Darius Esters of Oakland, got out and ran from the car but was later apprehended without incident, according to police.
An investigation into the recent residential burglary led police to two additional suspects located near the burglarized home.
Officers arrested both suspects, identified as 21-year-old Jashawndre Upshaw of San Francisco and 19-year-old Antioch resident Daveion Cornelious, police said.
All three were taken to county jail in Martinez on suspicion of both misdemeanor and felony charges.
Detectives believe that at least two of the suspects were responsible for multiple recent burglaries in Brentwood and are investigating whether all three were involved in additional home burglaries over the past several months.
