3 Suspected Gang Members Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Home Looking For Pot
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A trio of suspected gang members has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery last week at a Santa Rosa residence where they believed marijuana was being grown, police said.
The three suspects initially confronted a 26-year-old man in front of a residence on Rhianna Street at around 7:20 a.m. Thursday and demanded entry to the house, according to Santa Rosa police.
The resident fought off the suspects and tried to enter the garage and close the door as the suspects tried to pull it open, police said. The suspects eventually fled and the victim was not injured.
Police said the suspects believed the home held a marijuana growing operation, but that was not true.
That same day, police arrested 24-year-old Emmanuel Alvarez Flores Rojas. Shortly after the incident, an officer recognized his vehicle as matching the description of the one the suspects fled in, police said.
On Friday, 20-year-old Anthony Joseph Russom was arrested in connection with the attempted robbery. Then, on Tuesday, a 17-year-old was arrested as well.
All three individuals are suspected of having gang associations, according to police.
Rojas and Russom were booked into Sonoma County Jail while the teenage suspect, whose name is not being released due to his age, was booked into Sonoma County Juvenile Hall, police said.
