3 Family Members Shot During Vallejo Home Invasion
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A brother, sister and their mother were shot during a home invasion in Vallejo early Thursday morning, a police lieutenant said.
Officers responded about 3:40 a.m. to a report of a disturbance and shots fired at a home in the 1500 block of McDougal Street in north Vallejo, police Lt. Kenny Park said.
They arrived to find three victims who said they woke up in the middle of the night and heard someone forcing their way through the front door, Park said.
One victim, a woman in her 20s, first encountered the suspects, who fired a gun at her, striking her in the hand, according to Park.
Her brother, also in his 20s, then came out and saw the suspects, who shot him in the face. Their mother also was shot in the lower part of her body, Park said.
The suspects, described only as men wearing hooded sweatshirts, then fled and have not been found as of Thursday morning, Park said.
The man in his 20s was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center to be treated for his injuries while his mother was taken by ambulance to NorthBay Medical Center, according to Park.
The shooting remained under investigation.
