3 Men Sought In San Francisco Bank Robberies
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Police have released photos of three men involved in two separate bank robbery series in San Francisco in the past few weeks, and are asking for the public's help in identifying them.
The first suspect is wanted in connection with a string of robberies that started with a robbery at a bank in the 300 block of Clay Street in the Financial District at about 11:30 a.m. on April 30.
That man is also believed to be responsible for several other San Francisco bank robberies, as well as one at the Bon Air Shopping Center in Greenbrae on May 14. He is described as a white man between 40 and 50 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 160 to 170 pounds, police said.
He was last seen wearing a sun hat with a wide brim and a black hooded sweatshirt. He typically hands the bank teller a note demanding money, and pulled out a handgun during one robbery, according to police.
In one of the robberies, he was assisted by a second man. That robbery happened around 3:15 p.m. on May 12 near Chestnut and Fillmore streets in the Marina District, police said.
The second suspect is believed to be missing three fingers from his right hand and two from his left hand. He is described white, between 45 and 50 years old, roughly 5 feet 5 inches tall and 165 pounds. During the May 12 robbery, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored jacket, police said.
In an unrelated bank robbery series, investigators are looking for a black man in his 40s who has robbed several downtown banks. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black, curly wig and eyeglasses, police said.
The first robbery in that series occurred in the block of Front Street at about 10 a.m. on May 10, according to police.
