3 Masked Men Rob Fremont Bank, Flee
FREMONT (CBS SF) -- Police were searching for three masked men who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Fremont on Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the scene of the bank robbery on Fremont Boulevard near Union Street.
According to witnesses, three black men masked with bandanas over their faces walked into the bank and yelled for everyone to get on the floor, police said.
No weapons were seen, according to witnesses.
Two of the robbery suspects then jumped over the counter and dug through drawers in search of cash, police said.
A bank employee was thrown to the ground, police said.
The three men left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and jumped into a waiting getaway vehicle, according to police.
A customer inside the bank had to be hospitalized due to chest pains. The pain is believed to have been preexisting, police said.
Officers searched the area but have not yet found the suspects, police said.
