3 Hurt In Shootout Outside Antioch Bowling Alley
ANTIOCH (CBS SF) - Three men were injured early Saturday morning in what police believe was a gang-related shootout in the parking lot of an Antioch bowling alley, Antioch police said.
Police were called to Delta Bowl at 3300 Delta Fair Blvd. at about 12:30 a.m. to respond to a report of a shooting.
Officers didn't find any victims at the scene when they arrived, but they did find evidence of a shooting, including blood, a 9mm handgun and spent shell casings from four different types of weapons, Antioch police Sgt. Diane Aguinaga said.
Several cars in the parking lot had bullet holes in them.
The sounds of the gunfire could be heard above the loud disco music inside the bowling alley, but nobody inside saw the shootout happen, Aguinaga said.
A short time after the shots were fired, three men showed up separately at local hospitals. Two had been shot in the leg and one appeared to have been pistol-whipped, Aguinaga said.
All three are expected to survive, and none has cooperated with investigators, she said.
Detectives have, however, obtained video surveillance of the shootout, which appears to have involved two groups of males and been isolated to the parking lot, police said.
Police expect to make some arrests in the case soon, Aguinaga said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Desmond Bittner at (925) 779-6939.
