3 Hurt After Crash Sends Taxi Into SF Building
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Three people were hospitalized after a truck and taxi collided Thursday morning in San Francisco, causing the cab to strike a building containing a Walgreens store, police and fire officials said.
The collision was reported at 11:12 a.m. at Geary and Taylor streets and caused the cab to hit the Walgreens at 500 Geary St., police spokesman Sgt. Dennis Toomer said.
The crash sent three people to the hospital, including one with life-threatening injuries, fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.
The taxi struck the building to the side of the Walgreens entrance and a female who was outside of the store was apparently injured, said Joann Luong, a supervisor at the Walgreens.
Police and fire officials did not immediately have more information about what caused the crash or the extent of the other victims' injuries.
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency posted on Twitter that the collision was causing delays on the 38-Geary bus line.
