3 Hospitalized After Engine Fire On Alameda Tugboat
ALAMEDA (CBS SF) - A tugboat engine fire on a boat docked along the Alameda shoreline sent three people to the hospital Wednesday morning, an Alameda fire official said.
The fire, which started in boat's engine compartment, was reported at 10:41 a.m. in a vessel docked off of Mariner Square Drive, Division Chief Daren Olson said.
Three people who were aboard the boat drove themselves to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, he said.
The fire was quickly extinguished, and crews left the area just after 11:30 a.m., Olson said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
