2nd Suspect Arrested In Novato Parking Lot Shooting

NOVATO (BCN) - Police arrested a Novato man on Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder of two men in a shopping center parking lot on January 3rd, police said.

Armando Gil, 27, was arrested in the 7300 block of College View Drive in Rohnert Park at about 1:30 p.m. by investigators from the Novato Police Department, the San Rafael Police Department, and the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

The shooting victims, a 23-year-old San Jose man and a 27-year-old San Rafael man, were sitting in a car at the Hamilton Marketplace Shopping Center, located in the 5700 block of Nave Drive in Novato, when they were shot at about 8:30 p.m, police said.

Police have already arrested one suspect in the shooting, Alessandra Marie Coyle, 22, of Novato. She was taken into custody the day of the shooting on suspicion of attempted murder and participation in a criminal street gang.

Gil is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and participation in a criminal street gang, police said.

Gil was also served with three arrest warrants for rape, brandishing and criminal threats, from unrelated cases.

The investigation of the Jan. 3 shooting is ongoing as police continue to search for more suspects, police said.
