2nd Annual BottleRock Napa Valley Festival Underway, Traffic Controls In Effect
NAPA (CBS SF) -- Thousands are expected to attend the 3-day BottleRock Napa Valley Festival, which started Friday at the Exposition Center in Napa.
The festival, located just blocks from downtown Napa, spans 26 acres where more than 60 bands will perform on four stages surrounded by wineries and restaurants.
BottleRock is presented by Latitude 38 Entertainment, which is billing the Festival as the "Ultimate Celebration."
Last year's inaugural 5-day BottleRock festival was popular with music lovers, but the producer, BR Festivals, was sued for failing to pay millions of dollars to creditors and subsequently filed for bankruptcy.
"BottleRock Napa Valley is all about blending great music, food and wine... it really is a feast for your senses," said Latitude 38 CEO David Graham.
A 3-day festival pass is $279, a 3-day VIP pass is $599,a Platinum pass is $3,000 and single-day festival tickets are $149. Other ticket options and purchases are available at www.bottlerocknapavalley.com or www.ticketfly.com or charge by phone at (877) 435-9849.
Headline performers include Outkast, The Cure, Eric Church, Weezer, Heart, Third Eye Blind, The Fray, Barenaked Ladies, and Blues Traveler.
Napa police said traffic controls will be in place Friday through Sunday, but road closures will be in effect only between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Third Street from Soscol Avenue to Silverado Trail; Juarez Street from First Street to Third Street; and Burnell Street from Eighth Street to Third Street.
Sixth, Seventh and Eighth streets east of Soscol Avenue will be closed during the same period. Burnell, Lawrence, Baily and Fourth streets from Lawrence Street to Baily Street will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.
People driving to the festival are encouraged to park at the official BottleRock parking area at Napa Pipe, and all attendees are encouraged to use public transportation. Information about local transit is available at www.ridethevine.com.
Parking downtown is limited and time limits will be enforced. Parking in neighborhoods around Napa Expo is highly discouraged and parking regulations will be enforced in those areas.
