2 Women Killed In Separate Oakland Shootings

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Two female victims were both killed in shootings Wednesday morning in Oakland, police said.

The first shooting was reported at 12:11 a.m. in the 4000 block of Alameda Avenue, police said. A woman was shot in a car there and driven to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Then at 6:47 a.m., the city's Shotspotter gunfire detection system alerted police to gunfire in the 5800 block of International Boulevard, police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson said.

Minutes later, people in the area called 911 and reported the shots, Watson said.

Arriving officers found a female victim suffering gunshot wounds outside the Rainbow Recreation Center. She was pronounced dead there, Watson said.

Police have made no arrests in either homicide.
