2 Teens Suspected In String Of CoCo County Strong-Arm Robberies
DISCOVERY BAY (CBS) -- Contra Costa detectives arrested two teenagers on suspicion of involvement in three strong-arm robberies in Discovery Bay, sheriff's officials said.
Both boys, who are 16, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy and have been booked into juvenile hall. One is from Discovery Bay and the other is from Antioch.
The first incident occurred Monday at about 9 p.m. when a 19-year-old pizza delivery driver was robbed in the 1400 block of Cullen Drive.
The suspects took cash, an iPod, several pizzas and a soda, deputies said.
At around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 14-year-old boy was attacked by a group of juveniles while walking on Lakeshore Circle.
The suspects stole the boy's headphones, officials said.
At about 6:45 p.m. that same day, a group attacked two boys, ages 13 and 14, on Lakeshore Circle and stole an iPod.
"These cases were given a high priority because of the violent nature of the crimes," Lt. Burton said in a statement.
"Although two suspects are in custody, the investigation is still active as we are trying to identify other suspects who may be involved."
