Suspects Arrested In Connection With Dublin Bank Robbery
DUBLIN (CBS SF) -- Police on Tuesday arrested two suspects wanted in connection with a bank robbery earlier this week in Dublin.
Heather Renee Salcedo, 32, and a 17-year-old female juvenile were arrested on suspicion of bank robbery following a vehicle pursuit with officers in Modesto. Jason Celes, 32, the alleged driver in the pursuit, was also arrested, Dublin police said.
At 11:27 a.m. Monday, Dublin police responded to the Bank of America at 7496 Dublin Blvd. in response to a bank robbery.
Police said two female suspects entered the bank, where one of them handed the teller a lengthy note demanding money and threatening to harm the teller's family if she didn't comply.
The teller handed one of the suspects an undetermined amount of cash, and the suspects left the bank and fled the area in a brown GMC Yukon XL driven by a male suspect.
On Tuesday, investigators were able to identify the female suspects as Salcedo and the 17-year-old and obtained arrest warrants for them and a search warrant at a residence in Modesto, police said.
Dublin officers, along with with Modesto police, conducted surveillance on the residence and located the suspect vehicle driving away from the home.
Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as Celes, failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit, police said.
The pursuit went on for eight miles before the vehicle crashed into a gate in a rural area.
Celes and Salcedo were taken into custody without incident, and the 17-year-old was arrested in the area a few hours later.
Investigators said cash in the amount consistent with what was taken during the robbery was located in the vehicle.
Police said they are also looking at Celes' possible involvement in the bank robbery.
