2 Sought In Robbery, Shooting At Oakland Shoreline Park

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - East Bay Regional Park District police were investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night along the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland.

The robbery was reported at about 9:15 p.m. in the Damon Marsh area of the shoreline near Oakport Street, north of 66th Avenue.

The two victims were in the park when three suspects approached, displayed a gun and demanded money, a cellphone and one victim's car keys, East Bay Regional park police Lt. Jon King said.

The suspects punched the victims and fired shots at them as they ran into the park to escape, King said. No one was hit by the gunfire.

The suspects, described as Hispanic males between 16 and 20 years old, fled with the victims' property, police said.

One suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans; the second was wearing a black hat, white shirt and jeans; and the third was wearing a gray sweater and khaki pants, police said.

They did not take the victims' car, and were last seen driving a black Buick with stock rims and tinted windows, according to police.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call East Bay Regional Park District police at (510) 690-6552.
