2 Sought In Belmont Home Burglary
BELMONT (BCN) - Police in Belmont are looking for two suspects in a home burglary Wednesday evening.
A 63-year-old woman was in the garage of her home in the 1700 block of Hillman Avenue at around 5 p.m. when a white sedan pulled into her driveway, police said.
The woman went outside to investigate and a man approached her.
Another suspect was seen in the car, police said.
The man told her he was working on the property behind hers and wanted to show her something in the backyard, according to police.
The woman became suspicious and walked back towards the garage. She heard the man say something in Spanish into a hand-held radio and heard her front door shut.
The woman saw the suspect's car drive away with two passengers and discovered that jewelry was missing from her house, police said.
The man who approached the woman was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build. He had short, dark hair and was unshaven.
The suspect was wearing a blue baseball cap with the letter B on it, a white t-shirt, and jeans.
No description was available for the second suspect.
The car was described as an older white four-door sedan, similar to a Ford Taurus. The car was last seen driving west on Hillman Avenue.
