2 Santa Rosa Men Arrested For Online Solicitation Of Underage Girls
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Two men were arrested this week on suspicion of online solicitation of sex with young females, a Santa Rosa police sergeant said.
A 17-year-old girl informed police that she received inappropriate and illegal communication from a man after she answered an ad he placed online for a room for rent, Sgt. Terry Anderson said.
A detective posing as a 14-year-old girl communicated online with the suspect, who expressed his desire to have sex with her, Anderson said.
The detective identified the suspect as 60-year-old Santa Rosa resident Robert Sampson and got a warrant for his arrest, Anderson said.
Sampson was arrested Monday and was booked into Sonoma County Jail under $250,000 bail on suspicion of multiple counts including contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, Anderson said.
The second arrest came after the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office informed Santa Rosa police that a suspect posted an online ad about his desire to have sex with young females, Anderson said.
A detective posing as a 14-year-old girl communicated online with the suspect, who was identified as Brian Batoosingh, 36, of Santa Rosa, Anderson said.
Batoosingh was arrested Wednesday when he showed up at a prearranged location to pick up the "girl," Anderson said.
He was booked in jail on $300,000 bail on suspicion of offenses that include contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, Anderson said.
