2 Powerful Earthquakes Hit Ecuador
QUITO (CBS SF) -- Two powerful earthquakes rocked western Ecuador Wednesday.
A 6.8 magnitude quake hit about 15 miles north of the city of Rosa Zarate and 21 miles from the town of Muisne. According to the U.S. Geological Survey it happened at about 4:46 p.m. UTC
Another 6.7 magnitude quake happened about 4:07 p.m. according to the USGS in the same area.
So far there are no reports of damage.
President Rafael Correa tweeted urging people to stay calm and advising residents in Quito to return to their homes.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Honolulu has not issued any warnings.
