2 Oakland Men Arrested After Antioch JC Penny Robbery; 1 Suspect At Large
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Two Oakland men were arrested and another is at large after burglarizing a department store Thursday morning in Antioch, police said.
Officers responded to a report of men trying to pry open the emergency exit doors at the J.C. Penney at 4951 Slatten Ranch Road just before 5 a.m.
When officers arrived, they spotted a car speeding out of the parking lot, heading for Lone Tree Way, according to police.
After a failed attempt at a traffic stop, the car entered westbound state Highway 4. Officers continued to follow the car until it crashed moments later on Highway 4, just west of Laurel Road.
Romell Davis, 24, and Devontae Rutherford, 18, were arrested after a brief foot pursuit by officers, police said. A third suspect got away.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Antioch police at (925) 779-6902.
