2 More Arrested In East Bay Motorcycle Shop Murder Case
HAYWARD (CBS SF) – Two additional suspects have been arrested in the murder of a Newark man outside a birthday party at a tattoo parlor and motorcycle shop in unincorporated Hayward last December, Alameda County sheriff's officials announced Thursday.
Vicente Tizoc, 36, and Rontic Pearson, 22, were both arrested this month in connection with the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Jeremy Williams at about 1 a.m. on Dec. 20, according to the sheriff's office.
Tizoc surrendered at Santa Rita Jail on Tuesday. Pearson was arrested on July 18. Isaac Corrales, 30, of Fremont, the suspected shooter, has been in custody since Feb. 2 and was charged with murder and weapons offenses.
All three men were attending a birthday party that day at Simms Ink tattoo shop and Simms Custom Cycles at 21129 Foothill Blvd., according to the sheriff's office.
Williams had an ongoing feud with one of the men for borrowing his car years prior and crashing it during a high-speed pursuit. He punched one of them in the face when he arrived at the party, sheriff's officials said.
A security guard escorted Williams outside, where he waited for the suspects. Corrales, Tizoc and Pearson approached him while the security guard watched.
The security guard told investigators that they got into an argument and at one point Williams tried to hit Corrales with a metal object but missed. Eventually Corrales pulled out a Tec-9 handgun and shot and killed Williams, according to the sheriff's office.
The security guard heard seven gunshots and saw Corrales with the gun. He heard more gunshots and thought Corrales was shooting at him, so he returned fire but missed, sheriff's officials said.
The three men fled but one of them had been wounded and showed up at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward a short time later. He was discharged at 3:46 a.m., before investigators arrived, according to the sheriff's office.
All three remain in custody. In addition to the murder charge, Corrales was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of an assault weapon and possession of a machine gun. Pearson and Corrales have a court date scheduled for Aug. 18 at 9 a.m. at the Hayward Hall of Justice, according to jail records.
