2 Killed In Separate Oakland Shootings

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police in Oakland have identified a man and a woman killed in two separate shootings over the weekend.

On Saturday at 4:35 p.m., a 22-year-old woman was sitting in a vehicle in the 2100 block of High Street when an unknown suspect fired several shots, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Responding officers were waved down by witnesses who said the shooting victim—later identified as Oakland resident Bianca August—had been taken by private vehicle to Highland Hospital.

August suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the hospital.

On Friday at about 11:05 p.m., officers were flagged down by witnesses who reported a shooting in the 2400 block of 90th Avenue, according to police.

Officers found 24-year-old Timothy Barnes on the sidewalk suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

Barnes, an Oakland resident, died at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing as many as four men running from the area after the shooting.

No suspects have been arrested in connection with the two homicides, police said.
