2 Hurt In Separate Antioch Shootings
ANTIOCH (CBS 5/BCN) - Two men were shot and injured in Antioch Monday in separate incidents, according to police.
Monday night, an Oakland man was shot during a carjacking, police said. Police received reports the man had been shot in front of 4509 Bison Way at about 10:45 p.m.
The 40-year-old victim had been sitting in his 2005 two-door black Mercedes Benz waiting for a friend to come home, when he was approached by a male suspect wearing a mask who pointed a gun at him, police said.
The victim stepped out of his car, and, according to police, the suspect shot him in the gut before jumping into the Mercedes Benz and fleeing the scene.
No information about the suspect was released. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was in stable condition early Tuesday morning with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Earlier Monday, a Pittsburg man was hurt in a shooting on the 2300 block of L Street.
Police were called to the scene at about 3:05 p.m. and witnesses told police that two vehicles fled the area as shots were fired.
A passenger in one of the vehicles, 22-year-old Cory Ralls, was struck several times by gunfire and is being treated for his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
Officers are following up on "numerous leads" in the ongoing investigation.
No suspect or vehicle descriptions were released.
