2 Hurt In Plane Crash At Sonoma Airport

SONOMA (CBS) -- Two people were injured in a plane crash at the Sonoma Skypark airport just south of the town of Sonoma.

The crash, which emergency dispatchers said involved a "small plane," occurred at about 1:20 p.m.

It appears the plane many have taken off from the runway and crashed in a parking lot behind a warehouse, said Ron Price, airport manager at Skypark.

Price said the plane was not a local aircraft and it had the words "Air Design" on it. The passengers were transported to local hospitals on two helicopters, he said.

"I know they were talking when police and paramedics arrived," said Price. "It didn't look too bad. I think they were departing. I know they took off from the airport."

There were no other details available about the crash.
