2 Dead, Several Hurt In Multi-Car Crash In San Bruno
SAN BRUNO (CBS SF) -- Two people died and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in San Bruno Saturday afternoon.
Police responded to reports of a crash near the intersection of Sneath Lane and El Camino Real at around 12:15 p.m., police said.
A vehicle traveling east on Sneath Lane apparently struck several vehicles that appeared to be stopped on eastbound Sneath Lane near the intersection, police said.
Two people in one of the vehicles that was struck were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
People from two other vehicles, including the driver who crashed into the stopped vehicles, were taken to hospitals, police said.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
Police said they are investigating the cause of the crash, including whether the responsible driver was impaired.
The California Highway Patrol closed lanes of El Camino Real and the westbound Interstate Highway 380 exit onto El Camino Real as emergency crews responded, CHP Officer James Evans said.
All lanes reopened at around 3 p.m.
