2 Arrested In Stabbings At Walnut Creek Car Wash
WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) - Two brothers were arrested Monday night for allegedly stabbing three victims near a car wash in Walnut Creek, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a fight involving five people, whom police later discovered are neighbors at a nearby apartment complex, at a car wash in the 2900 block of North Main Street shortly before 9 p.m., Walnut Creek police Sgt. Tom Cashion said.
Two victims had stab wounds in their torsos and were taken to John Muir Medical Center where they underwent surgery and were in stable condition.
A third victim had suffered stab wounds on their forearm, but the victim refused medical treatment.
Two of the five people in the group were arrested and identified as brothers Jorge and Rogelio Argueta, 48 and 38, respectively, of Walnut Creek. They were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on $90,000 bail, Cashion said.
The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office had not filed a court date for the Argueta brothers as of Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, investigators recovered a knife used in the fight Monday night.
It seems the fight at the car wash, where some of the people in the fight are employees, stemmed from a "long-term feud might that may have been brewing," according to Cashion.
The fight started with one person pointing a fake gun, which led to a fistfight and then to the stabbing, Cashion said.
