2 Arrested After South San Francisco Car Burglaries
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Two men were arrested in South San Francisco Saturday morning on suspicion of breaking into cars outside an Embassy Suites Hotel, police said.
A guest at the hotel called police about 2 a.m. to report seeing two men in the hotel's parking lot who were attempting to break into vehicles, police said.
The guest said the suspects appeared to be peering into cars with a flashlight and prying the car windows with an unknown object, police said.
Officers responded to the area of 250 Gateway Blvd., spotted the suspects' vehicle leaving the scene, and stopped the car in Brisbane.
According to police, a search of the vehicle revealed gloves, flash lights, pry tools and personal property that did not belong to the two men in the car.
Police arrested Demauriae Jacques Epps, 20, of San Francisco, and Darcell Jamar Epps, 24, of Oakland, on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, and possession of burglary tools.
Both men were booked into San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City.
