2 Arrested After High-Speed Chase Ends In Richmond
RICHMOND (BCN) -- Vallejo police, Richmond police and the California Highway Patrol in Oakland participated in the pursuit and arrest of three Vallejo burglary suspects Thursday.
Vallejo police Sgt. Kenny Park said a resident of the 1600 block of Valley Oak Lane in the Glen Cove area called police around noon to report three males removing items from a home into a van.
Responding officers tried to stop a van leaving the area, but the van drove onto Interstate Highway 80 over the Carquinez Bridge into Contra Costa County, Park said.
The van exited the highway at McBride Avenue and stopped in front of a residence in the 900 block of Humboldt Street in Richmond, Park said.
Three men in the van fled, but police caught Alonzo Washington, 22, and Caesar Ammons Jr., 18, both of Richmond, Park said. They were arrested for burglary, evading police and obstructing or resisting an officer, Park said.
The third suspect was still at large, Park said.
The CHP in Oakland provided a helicopter and plane as well as ground units during the pursuit.
