Dad Saves Family From 2-Alarm San Mateo House Fire
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- A father of seven was being credited with saving his family from a 2-alarm fire at a residence in San Mateo early Wednesday morning, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 2208 Bermuda Drive, near Fiesta Meadows Park, about 3:40 a.m.
The man was getting ready for work, and heard his car alarm going off when he discovered the house was on fire.
According to firefighters, the man worked quickly to get his wife and seven children out of the house safely.
The fire was under control by about 4:40 a.m., according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
