19-Year-Old Woman Jailed In San Jose Park Stabbing
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - A 19-year-old woman is in jail today after being arrested on suspicion of stabbing a 53-year-old man in San Jose's St. James Park on Tuesday.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing at 2:29 p.m. and found a man suffering from a stab wound. The man, a transient, had been in the park when he and the woman, who is also a transient, got into an argument, according to police.
The woman then pulled out a knife, stabbed the man and fled, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.
The woman was apprehended by Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies, who located her at the Paseo de San Antonio light rail station. The deputies arrested her without incident, police said.
She was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Police have not yet released her name.
