17-Year-Old Arrested For Pair Of Healdsburg Stabbings
HEALDSBURG (BCN) - Police in Healdsburg were still working Tuesday to tie up loose ends following a Monday night stabbing that left two men injured and a 17-year-old in custody, police said.
At 9:27 p.m. Healdsburg District Hospital officials informed police about the arrival of two men, age 20 and 23, who had each been stabbed several times.
The men had apparently been involved in a large fight near Adeline Way and Exchange Avenue, Lt. Kevin Young said. The fight involved two groups totaling eight to 10 people, Young said.
Detectives interviewed witnesses and identified a 17-year-old boy as a suspect.
Police located the suspect on Powell Avenue and interviewed him, then arrested him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Young said.
The suspect had allegedly given the knife to another person and police recovered the weapon from a home on Adeline Way, investigators said.
"We're confident that we only have one person involved," Young said.
The extent of the victims' injuries is not known, only that one of the victims suffered wounds to the upper torso, Young said.
"The two victims are expected to survive," Young said.
