15,000 Lose Power In Berkeley; Service Restored
BERKELEY (BCN) - A power outage affected about 15,000 PG&E customers in Berkeley Friday afternoon, but service has since been restored to all customers, a utility spokeswoman said.
The outage was reported between noon and 12:30 p.m. in the northwest part of the city, and originally affected about 15,000 customers, PG&E spokeswoman Brandi Ehlers said.
About 4,000 customers had their power restored shortly afterward, and the remaining 11,000 were restored by 1:50 p.m., Ehlers said.
The outage was caused by an equipment failure in PG&E's substation in Berkeley, she said.
