15 Displaced By Alameda Apartment Building Fire
ALAMEDA (CBS SF) -- A second-alarm fire in an Alameda apartment building displaced 15 residents early Wednesday morning, according to a fire captain.
Alameda firefighters received reports of a fire at 2002 Pacifica Ave. at approximately 1:03 a.m., Alameda fire Capt. Jim Colburn said.
Heavy fire was reported in the back of the building and one person who was having difficulty getting out of the building was rescued by firefighters, Colburn said.
Firefighters extinguished the fire shortly after 2 a.m., according to Colburn.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the 15 residents displaced by the fire, Colburn said.
