Petaluma 13-Year-Old Stabbed By Classmate
PETALUMA (CBS SF) - A 13-year-old boy suffered a cut to the ear Wednesday morning when a classmate pulled out a knife during a fight at Petaluma's Kenilworth Junior High School.
The boys were fighting behind the school gym about 8 a.m., just before classes were to begin at the middle school, located at 800 Riesling Road.
The other boy, who is also 13, had a 5-inch knife with a 3-inch, double-edged blade, police said.
He cut the first boy in the ear, and the victim went to the school's administrative office for medical help. He was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital, where he received stitches for a 1-inch laceration, according to police.
School officials found the suspect on campus and held him at the school office, then called police. The teen was booked into Juvenile Hall.
Police said the boys had had an ongoing dispute for two weeks prior to Wednesday's confrontation. They were supposed to fight after school on Tuesday to "settle their differences," but they did not meet up, police said.
