$10K Reward Offered In 2013 Berkeley Hills Murder
BERKELEY (KCBS) -- UC Berkeley police are offering a $10,000 reward for information in the 2013 murder of an aspiring paramedic at a lookout on Grizzly Peak, the victim's family said Wednesday.
Alberto Santana-Silva was shot and killed on Mother's Day in 2013 when he tried to break up a fight between two groups of strangers. Shortly after the fight broke up, a suspect returned with a gun, fatally shooting Santana-Silver.
"My brother loved life. He was always happy. He had a really good heart," Santana-Silver's sister Maribel told KCBS.
"The hard part is getting an eye witness that can identify who the shooter was, and that's why we're here today, three years later, because I know through my investigation that somebody other than the shooter knows who did this," UC Berkeley Police Detective Jonathan Caires told KCBS.
